Meeting Began: 5:30 PM
Meeting Began: 5:30 PM
Fabick out done them selves again hosting this meeting for us in two large tents joined together. With Fabick's portable air and power we could not even tell we where outside!
Frank Kastl made opening comments, attending members
introduced themselves. Frank made our chapter announcements and congratulated
everyone on our chapters great membership growth.
We started out with an excellent barbeque dinner and drinks, while we networked with our peers. Terry handed out our new AFE business cards designed for us to invite others to future St. Louis chapter meetings. Fabick gave away prizes and everyone received a cool stainless steel AFE/Fabick mug.
Jeff Wahl and Chuck Justus of Fabick spoke on electrical contingency planning and facility preparedness. As they went over the handouts, they both told of current power outage instances for us to reflect and learn from.
While we all know the importance of being prepared for a power outage (even more so with the realization of 9/11), we learned exactly what steps to take to minimize downtime and get temporary power connected. The biggest issue Jeff and Chuck seemed see out in the field was facilities not knowing what their current power requirement where.
We also walked away from the meeting with many money saving ideas. Did you know you may reduce insurance cost by performing an preparedness audit and having an electrical contingency plan in place? If you do not have your plan in place now, during an outage your cost could be many times what it should be.
If you missed our meeting, please call Fabick Power Systems Inc. for help with setting up an electrical contingency plan. (636) 349-5500
