President-AFE St. Louis (Chapter 26)

Here you will see golf through the eyes of AFE ST. Louis Webmaster, who has never golfed before. Come on now, everybody has had a first game, haven't they? Only AFE could get me out to the green, and it was not easy. :>) The course manager was nervous about letting a first timer in their club.

Frank on left, George on the right.I lucked out; Terry Bremer's group was too large for me to join, so they put me on the President's Team. In the picture on the left, they are wedging it to the next hole. Terry's group was so large, I might not have had time to golf. (I learned golf is a push production system, if you do not keep a move on it, the people behind you may shove. :>) Frank and George liked having me there making them look better. Well they did till about the ninth hole...

That is when my "beginner's luck" kick in. Frank drove it to the trees on one side, George to the trees on the other. Then it was my turn, Wham! Right up the middle. If I did not make Par, I sure was looking like it, ha! Frank joked, " Why don't you go play with Terry's group", ha. I was having fun just finding balls in the trees, and driven around the beautiful scenery.

You could tell where all George had been by his big cigar's smoke; "now, where did that ball go?" We had great golfing weather, although it had rained in surrounding areas. Sorry those who missed out, thinking it would be raining. After 18 holes, we returned to the building where we where treated to free drinks and chips. We told our golf stories, and had a lot more fun socializing.

You may find the website a little light on content, because I am now addicted to golf. (Just joking, we will always keep the website up. :>)

Thanks again, AFE and our sponsors for making all this possible.

AFE Members: We exist because of the continued support of our Sponsors.  When you have needs, please show your appreciation by contacting them.
