New Articles
This month we are proud to report on our Annual
convention held in Las Vegas. Our goal at AFE-STL is to keep our
members current with resources to deal with the issues they face today.
So the web site and news letter are heavy on Security
and Emergency information. We also encourage you to follow
up the print version of this newsletter, with a visit to the online version.
This Month:
Learn:
We learned a great deal at the Facilities
America 2001 conference. We learned the importance of facility security
and maintaining a current emergency plan.
Lead:
Nationally, AFE lead the initiative to
provide relief to the survivors of our facilities personnel who fell
victim to the recent tragedies. Regionally, we are leading the way to
new end users in our membership ranks, by a corporate initiative.
Influence:
Foremost, AFE has an ongoing role
of insuring facility maintenance management is a recognized occupation
in both Government and Industry. Many of our members influence there
local areas, even nationally. AFE helps with the FAME Award. Like this
year's winner featured in an article
published in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

St.
Louis Meeting-Tour:

End
User's in the St. Louis Area
This meeting
will be on Tuesday (Oct. 30, 2001 @ 5:00 P.M.) at Laclede
Gas building 720 Olive Street, Suite 2200, St. Louis, MO. 63101
Mr. Creech
will give a tour of the total energy plant which consists of six
internal combustion engines that have a capacity of 4.3 megawatts.
Exhaust and combustion heat from the generating engine is used to make
low pressure steam. This steam in turns makes HVAC for the 500,000
square foot Laclede Gas building. This is a must attend meeting. Our
group is growing so don't miss out.
Come and network with your St. Louis's
A.F.E. Make some friends, eat, and have fun.

Facilities
America:
Facilities America 2001

Facilities America 2001 took place in Las Vegas,
Nevada. By the great turnout, I'd say most followed President
Bush's directive, and traveled as usual.
AFE is a 46-year-old, not-for-profit organization that helps its
members improve productivity, profitability and performance of the
facilities in their charge. Through more than 100 chapters across the
country, it offers them relevant information and resources, value-added
education and certifications, and opportunities to learn, lead and
influence the facilities engineering field.

National Site in the near future.
